Venus is a world shrouded in mystery and extreme conditions. Often called Earth's twin due to similar size and mass, Venus is actually a hellish world with surface temperatures hot enough to melt lead. Its thick atmosphere of carbon dioxide creates a runaway greenhouse effect, making it the hottest planet in our solar system. Venus rotates backwards compared to most planets and has the longest day of any planet – longer than its year.
