Asteroid orbital elements from the Minor Planet Center (MPC) MPCORB database. Positions and magnitudes calculated using Skyfield astronomical library.
Magnitude Calculation
Visual magnitudes calculated using the standard asteroid formula: V = H + 5*log₁₀(r*Δ) - 2.5*log₁₀((1-G)*Φ₁ + G*Φ₂) where H is absolute magnitude and G is the phase parameter.
Visibility Information
Rise, transit, and set times are calculated for your specific location. Altitude shows current height above horizon (negative = below horizon).
Update Frequency
Positions are calculated in real-time and cached for 1 hour. Orbital elements are updated daily from MPC.
