The New General Catalogue of Nebulae and Clusters of Stars (NGC) is an astronomical catalogue compiled by John Louis Emil Dreyer in 1888. It contains 7,840 deep-sky objects and is one of the most comprehensive catalogs of its kind. The NGC expanded upon previous catalogs and remains a fundamental reference for astronomers today.

الأنظمة الضوئية
V-band (Visual): مرشح Johnson V متمركز عند ~550 نانومتر (أصفر مخضر)، بما يوافق ذروة حساسية العين البشرية. هذا هو نظام القدر الفلكي القياسي.
B-band (Blue): مرشح Johnson B متمركز عند ~440 نانومتر (ضوء أزرق). يُستخدم عندما لا يكون القدر V متاحًا.
مقياس القدر
مقياس القدر الفلكي لوغاريتمي. تمثل كل درجة قدرية نسبة سطوع تقارب ~2.512x. والصيغة التي تربط فرق القدر بنسبة السطوع هي:
\[m_1 - m_2 = -2.5 \times \log_{10}\left(\frac{F_1}{F_2}\right)\]
حيث إن m هو القدر وF هو التدفق. كلما انخفض القدر كان الجرم أكثر سطوعًا.
مؤشر اللون (B-V)
يشير مؤشر اللون B-V إلى لون الجرم ودرجة حرارته:
\[B - V = m_B - m_V\]
Typical values: blue objects have negative B-V, white objects are near 0, yellow objects are near 0.6, and red objects are above 1.0. Reference: تحويل اللون
ترميز القدر
تُعلَّم كل قيمة قدرية بـ (V) لنطاق V أو بـ (B) لنطاق B للإشارة إلى النظام الضوئي المستخدم.
دليل الرؤية:
• حد العين المجردة: ~6.0 قدر
• منظار: ~10.0 قدر
• تلسكوب صغير (4"): ~12.0 قدر
• تلسكوب متوسط (8"): ~14.0 قدر
نظام الإحداثيات
Right Ascension (RA): Celestial longitude in hours:minutes:seconds (0h to 24h).
Declination (Dec): Celestial latitude in degrees:arcminutes:arcseconds (-90 to +90 degrees).
